Women in SUV's

How many times have you seen a woman driving an SUV? I can hardly drive to the Wawa (which is less than 1 mile away) without seeing several. Now I understand that men drive SUVs as well as women, but the ratio of women to men is outstanding. Now there are three types of SUV that I have come across in my day. The normal SUVs (such as the Ford Explorer), the extended SUVs (the Lincoln Navigator), and the TUV (short for Truck UV, which looks like a horrific cross between a pickup truck and an SUV). All three of these SUVs have several things in common: they are all overly large, they all guzzle gas (with the exception of the recent hybrid SUVs, which are a whole different topic in themselves), and they all take up excess space in this already crowded world.

Now back to the main topic: women in SUVs. In my experience thus far in my motor career, 9 times out of 10, when someone cuts me off or does something stupid/wreckless, it's a woman...in an SUV. I've already had my problems with women drivers in the past (they drive wrecklessly and pay very little attention to the world outside of their vehicles) but the SUV factor drives me insane.

Let's face it, SUVs were designed for the American public: they're large, powerful, and anounce one's presence with great authority. Now on to the big problem with the women driving them...they drive alone!!! Look at any SUV and you'll find that they can fit a plethora of people quite comfortably. So why do women (most of whom cannot weigh more than 115 pounds) drive these huge SUVs by their lonesome? It just doesn't make sense to have such a large vehicle for solitary driving purposes. If you could prove to me that every woman that drives an SUV by herself has a family (including children) that make use of the SUV then I wouldn't have a problem, but that cannot be accomplished. Off the top of my head, I can think of two of my associates mother's that own those monstrosities of vehicles and neither use them for anything other than solitary driving.

The women that are being portrayed as Satan's henchwomen are also the first to voice their complaints against rising gas prices. They drive the SUVs that average about 15 miles per gallon when they could be driving a nice sedan that averages about 30 mpg or even a hybrid car that averages about 60 mpg. But they don't. They don't.
